Who is the registrar of a domain

Enter a domain — and you will see which registrar it is served by, when it was registered and until when it is paid, what status it is in and which nameservers it is delegated to. The data is taken from public WHOIS; the owner's personal data is not disclosed.

What to do with the result

If the domain is available, you can register it — taking into account the new Gosuslugi procedure. Frequently asked questions

What does the check show? The domain registrar, registration and expiry dates, statuses and nameservers — from public WHOIS data. We do not display the owner's personal data: for .ru it is hidden anyway, and for other zones showing it is an unnecessary risk.

Why can't I see who the owner is? For .ru domains, individuals' data is hidden in WHOIS by default, and for international zones it should not be shown because of data-protection law. That is why the registrar and technical fields are displayed rather than a person's name.

The domain is shown as available — what next? It means the name is not registered and can be taken. Note: from 1 September 2026, registering a .ru domain requires a verified Gosuslugi account.

I want to transfer a domain to another registrar — is it easy? Not always. From 1 September 2026, transferring a .ru domain requires Gosuslugi identification twice: first with the current registrar, otherwise it will not release the domain, then with the new one.
